Visiting Dublin, I went to visit the exact recreation of Francis Bacon’s studio at the Hugh Lane gallery. After his death the studio was moved to Dublin in 1998. They also have a number of unfinished studies which offer a glimpse of his working process. These were is some ways more fascinating than the recreated studio as Bacon famously destroyed so much of his work if he wasn’t happy with it.
