Andrew and Hugue
A portrait of my friends Andrew and Hugue who run an amazing holiday let at Casale Monticchio in Umbria. I was thinking about figurative British painting in the sixties and seventies, and had got them to pose in the style of the American Collectors (Fred and Marcia Weisman) from 1968 by David Hockney.

Basketballs on walls
I had the idea that you could take a mould from a basket ball and use it to make indoor ceramic wall planters.

Flower Vase
When I started my pottery course at Parade Mews Pottery in Tulse Hill, I was determined not to make any pots. But you end up making vessels of one sort or another as thats whats pottery is about. This was the first big piece I made and is inspired by Eduardo Chillida.

Modular plywood bookcase
Following the platform bed, I wanted to explore building a modular bookcase system. It is designed to fill an entire wall 3600mm wide and 2400mm high in my house. Again its CNC cut plywood that I drew out in Illustrator and had cut out of 18mm birch plywood.

Alice in Wonderland school play scenery
St Judes Year Six always puts on an end of year play. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the student finishing primary school, and makes a break from SATs. This year it was a musical Alice in Wonderland. My daughter volunteered me to help out with the scenery.

CNC plywood Platform bed
I wanted to make a platform bed to sit in the roof space of my daughters bedroom. The ceiling slope follows the profile of the valley roof, so there is just room to put a platform in. I also wanted to experiment with CNC router cut plywood and cantilevered wall supports.

Pop chimney pots
When I was adding a new storey to my house, I was required by the council to keep my chimneys, as we are in a conservation area. Even though there are no chimney breasts in the house now. So, I thought the least I could do was cheer up the roof scape on the street…

Floating Sharks
Went to see Ashley Bickerton’s show at Newport Street gallery and was very taken with the hammerhead sharks floating around the space. St Judes school logo
Both my daughters have been very lucky to go to St Judes Primary School which is just one street away from my house. When the school announced they were looking to redesign their school logo, I think we all felt I should offer to help.
