AOL Redesign – Project Trinity

Complete redesign of AOL.co.uk, which at the time was made up of 15 channels, and hundreds of pages of content. To speed up the design process standard modules were created, which could be combined to produce a range of page templates.


Each template layout was dynamic. Modules in the right hand side of the screen would float around different ad formats as they were being served to the page. This maximised ad revenue on the service.

The advantage of starting with a simple modular page layout, was that each channel was very easy to skin. The games channel started with the default AOL blue, but was easily moved to a more vibrant design following a partner integration with trymedia
