I joined Currencies Direct to make UX more systematic. As the company became Redpin I worked on new products for payments and embedded software for property.

Evolving from a general FX company to a Proptech company.

Currencies Direct is a well established non-bank currency exchange service. New leadership renamed the company Redpin, and launched a new strategy to offer payments and embedded software for the residential property market.

In a small team of five designers I was asked to champion and improve the UX practise in the team.

I focused on establishing human-centered and service design techniques into the product delivery process. Hired a dedicated customer research lead, encouraged competitor analysis, and mapped customer journeys and service blueprints.

The product team was always developing and testing MVPs and I created the initial concepts and wireframes to test and validate before the product designers iterated the final designs.

As Redpin the company pivoted from a broad consumer and B2B FX sales based offering to a focus on property transactions, with a digital product based offering. This led to the development of the PropertyPay MVP(s) for which I was the UX lead.

Sadly the new leadership eventually replaced most of the Currencies Direct product team and I was made redundant.
